Song To The Moon
by Antonin Dvorak
" Song To The Moon "is an aria from Antonín Dvorák’s opera “Rusalka.” The most popular and successful Czech opera, Rusalka, tells the story of an immortal water nymph from Slavic Mythology who falls in love with a prince and yearns to become human. It is a sad and touching fairy tale which contains many similarities to Undine by German poet Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué and The Little Mermaid by Danish writer Hans Christian Anderson.
The opera Rusalka is based on the fairy tales of the folklorist Karel Jaromír Erben and the Czech writer, Božena Němcová. The opera was composed by the famous Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák and the libretto was written by the Czech poet and librettist, Jaroslav Kvapil, who first had the idea to write the libretto while on the island of Bornholm.

Lyrics
Song to The Moon
(English - Translation)
Your light sees far,
You travel around the wide world,
and see into people's homes.
Moon, stand still a while
and tell me where is my dear.
Tell him, silvery moon,
that I am embracing him.
For at least momentarily
let him recall of dreaming of me.
Illuminate him far away,
and tell him, tell him who is waiting for him!
If his human soul is, in fact, dreaming of me,
may the memory awaken him!
Moonlight, don't disappear, disappear!
(Czech- Original)
Mesiku na nebi hlubokem
Svetlo tve daleko vidi,
Po svete bloudis sirokem,
Divas se v pribytky lidi.
Mesicku, postuj chvili
reckni mi, kde je muj mily
Rekni mu, stribmy mesicku,
me ze jej objima rame,
aby si alespon chvilicku
vzpomenul ve sneni na mne.
Zasvet mu do daleka,
rekni mu, rekni m kdo tu nan ceka!
O mneli duse lidska sni,
at'se tou vzpominkou vzbudi!
Mesicku, nezhasni, nezhasni!

Lyrics
'Til I Hear You Sing
Living a mere facade of life
Ten long years
Wasting my time on smoke and noise
In my mind
I hear melodies pure and unearthly
But I find
I can't give them a voice without you
My Christine, my Christine
Lost and gone, lost and gone
The day starts
The day ends
Time crawls by
Night steals in pacing the floor
The moments creep
Yet I can't bear to sleep
'Til I hear you sing
And weeks pass
And months pass
Seasons fly
Still you don't walk through the door
And in a haze
I count the silent days
'Til I hear you sing once more
And sometimes at night time
I dream that you are there
But wake holding nothing
But the empty air
And years come
And years go
Time runs dry
Still I ache down to the core
My broken soul
Can't be alive and whole
'Til I hear you sing once more
And music, your music
It teases at my ear
I turn and it fades away
And you're not here
Let hopes pass
Let dreams pass
Let them die
Without you, what are they for?
I'll always feel
No more than halfway real
'Til I hear you sing once more

Lyrics
I Wonder
I wonder why each little bird has a someone
To sing to
Sweet things to
A gay little love melody?
I wonder, I wonder
If my heart keeps singing will my song go winging
To someone
Who'll find me
And bring back a love song to me?

Lyrics
Across The Universe
They slither while they pass they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva, Om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
They call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly
As they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva, Om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter, shades of love are ringing through my opened ears
Inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love, which shines around me
Like a million suns and calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva, Om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva

Lyrics
Never Gonna Fall In Love Again
There's really nothing more to say
I'll get along without your kiss tonight
Just close the door and walk away
Never gonna fall in love again
I don't want to start with someone new
‘Cause I couldn't bear to see it end
Just like me and you
No, I never want to feel the pain
Of remembering how it used to be
Never gonna fall in love again
Just like you and me
At first we thought that love was here to stay
The summer made it seem so right
But like the sun we watched it fade away
From morning into lonely night
Never gonna fall in love again
I don't want to start with someone new
‘Cause I couldn't bear to see it end
Just like me and you
No, I never want to feel the pain
Of remembering how it used to be
Never gonna fall in love again
Just like you and me

On My Own
by Claude-Michel Schonberg
" On My Own " is a solo from the 1980 musical Les Misérables for the part of Éponine. Beginning in the key of D major, modulating to Bb major, then ending in F major, this is the most important song for the role of Éponine. In the song, she expresses her unrequited love for the character Marius, and how she dreams of being at his side but knows his love is for Cosette and not for her.
The solo did not exist in the original French show that opened in 1980. When the English version was written, the music for "On My Own" was adapted from the original French solo "L'Air de la Misère" which was sung by Fantine about her misery and suffering. In turn, Éponine's original French solo, "L'un Vers L'autre", was dropped in the English version. In the later 1991 Parisian version, the title was "Mon Histoire" (My story). However, "On My Own" has become one of the most famous songs in the musical, and Éponine one of its most popular characters.

Lyrics
On My Own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
Without him
I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me
In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever
And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him
The world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life
I've only been pretending
Without me
His world will go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own
